Triton Day draws thousands newly admitted students and their families every year to explore campus, tour residence halls, engage with faculty and meet future classmates. It’s about experiencing all that UC San Diego has to offer – from a dynamic campus community and a top-quality education to expansive research programs and unique opportunities. On Saturday, an estimated 20,000 participated in UC San Diego’s Triton Day festivities, which included affinity booths, college sessions, overnight programs, a cultural celebration at Thurgood Marshall College and the Black Family Get-Together. A new interactive exhibit this year also drew a big crowd – UC San Diego’s shakeboard. It is virtual surfing with a twist, because it’s a mash-up of two UC San Diego inventions, our algae-based surfboard and our world-famous shake table.
Thank you to the hundreds of current students, alumni, faculty, staff and campus leaders volunteered their time to welcome our guests, answer questions and showcase the multitude of possibilities that exist on campus.
