UC San Diego is commemorating its 53rd anniversary today.  Hundreds of students, staff, faculty and founding faculty gathered in Town Square to mark the occasion.  The annual Founders’ Day celebration included a short program that recapped our campus’ amazing history and achievements, and a speech by Chancellor Khosla focusing on our mission as a public research university that contributes to the greater good.  He called out several founding faculty members in the audience, pointing out how their accomplishments laid the groundwork for today’s pioneering research.
