“This symposium underscores UC San Diego’s commitment to our relationship with Mexico and our binational border region.” - Chancellor Khosla
Business leaders, policy makers and scholars from California and Mexico gathered at UC San Diego today for the Mexico Moving Forward symposium, including UC President Janet Napolitano and Chancellor Khosla, who both delivered opening remarks. The day-long event featured a wide range of topics – from arts and culture to business, politics and science. The inaugural symposium in 2011 was created by UC San Diego’s Center for U.S. Mexican Studies as part of our campus’ 50th anniversary commemoration. The goal of the event is to celebrate the Mexico’s strengths and discuss the country’s future. Today’s symposium focused on Mexico’s progress and goals after the signing of NAFTA.
