Supporting the Education and Research Mission of the Campus

“The UC San Diego Library plays a vital role in supporting the university’s world-renowned research and instruction.”  – Chancellor Khosla

UC San Diego’s Dinner in the Library, held last Friday, is an annual tradition that transforms the first floor of Geisel Library into an elegant dining area amidst book collections and study spaces.  The special fundraising event features delectable food, exhibits of rare library materials and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the UC San Diego Library’s collections, services and learning spaces.  After thanking all of our generous supporters at this year’s event, Chancellor Khosla talked about the upcoming Geisel Library renovations which will enable the facility to meet the evolving needs of our campus and community members.  He also emphasized the vital role of the Library in supporting UC San Diego’s mission of education, research and service.
