Preparing for College Success

Chancellor Khosla recently welcomed dozens of new engineering students to UC San Diego at the closing ceremony for the Freshman Summer Engineering Institute.  The students, who participated in a five-week intensive program, presented their summer work at the event.  The institute’s goals include providing supplemental academic preparation and support, building a diverse engineering student community and integrating students into our campus learning environment.  The institute is part of the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Excellence and Advancement (IDEA Student Center) at the Jacobs School of Engineering.

Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Becky Petitt and Professor Olivia Graeve showed their support for the engineering students.
