Today at 6 a.m. UC San Diego launched our first-ever day of giving that we’re calling u.give. In honor of our founding in 1960, u.give offers 1,960 minutes—or 32 hours—to consider what about UC San Diego excites you and to make a gift to support your passion.
Perhaps you are passionate about saving a species or preventing a student from going hungry. Or maybe you want to support scholarships, campus culture, or groundbreaking research and innovation. Whatever the cause, whatever the dollar amount, your gift matters. Every drop in a bucket makes a ripple. Your gift builds momentum to drive change.
Today, I’m supporting the Chancellor’s Associates Scholars Program with a gift to the scholarship fund. Since its beginning in 2013, the program has helped bring more than 850 student scholars from underrepresented local communities to UC San Diego and helped them succeed in college. Access to higher education matters to me, and that’s why I give to scholarships.
What matters to you? I know I can count on you as the entire UC San Diego community unites to show our Triton pride by making a gift of any size today.
Together we can make this first u.give day a day the campus will always remember.
