UC San Diego campus members are encouraged to participate in the Cool Campus Challenge, a 10-week effort to reduce the University of California’s carbon footprint and further our goal of making the university carbon neutral by 2025. The challenge began this week with each campus vying for the coveted “Coolest UC Campus” title. More than 5,000 people from the 10 UC campuses, UC Office of the President and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab have already signed up for the challenge. Participants are asked to take simple actions, such as powering down computers and turning off lights. Sign up, reduce your carbon footprint, track your activity and help UC San Diego advance in the friendly competition.
