While in China, Chancellor Khosla is meeting with academic leadership at Fudan University, including President Xu Ningsheng. The two leaders signed a new Memorandum of Understanding, further cementing the close relationship and collaboration between our universities. Chancellor Khosla also delivered a speech with Dean Peter Cowhey that highlighted UC San Diego’s role in innovation and how the emerging global scene of innovation affects education.
In particular, the Chancellor talked about UC San Diego’s strengths in multi-disciplinary education and research, our Strategic Plan priorities and potential areas of future collaboration. After the speech, Professor Susan Shirk joined the Chancellor and Dean Cowhey for a moderated discussion about universities, innovation and China-U.S. relations.
