Congratulating the First Class of Chancellor’s Associates Transfer Scholars

Chancellor Khosla is committed to improving accessibility and affordability at UC San Diego.  He recently expanded the newly established Chancellor’s Associates Scholars program to three community colleges – Southwestern College, San Diego City College and Imperial Valley College – enabling eligible transfer students from these colleges to attend UC San Diego debt-free.  A special congratulatory reception was held for this year’s first class of transfer scholars and their families at the Joe and Vi Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation in Southeast San Diego.  Chancellor Khosla congratulated the students on their admission and encouraged them to choose UC San Diego.  He also thanked all of the people who’ve helped to prepare the students for a bright future.  Each student then received a blue and gold honor cord, which the Chancellor said he wants them to wear again when they graduate as Tritons.
