Chancellor Talks about Issues in Higher Education at Supper Club

“Fifty years from now, we want to look back and say that our second 50 years were even better than our first.”

– Chancellor Khosla talking about why the campus initiated a strategic planning process

Chancellor Khosla was the guest speaker at the Social Sciences Supper Club held at the Faculty Club on April 24.  The Supper Club is one of the university’s most popular dinner lecture series featuring faculty who focus on some of the most important social issues of our time.  The Chancellor talked about three main issues facing higher education including the reduction of state funding, the need to improve access and affordability for students, and the impact of technology on education.  He also focused on the importance of UC San Diego’s strategic planning process in addressing these issues and developing a unifying vision and shared goals for the future of our campus.
