Alumnus, Nobel Laureate Speaks at UC San Diego

Alumnus and Nobel Laureate Bruce Beutler returned to campus Nov. 8 to speak about his journey that led to the Nobel Prize, as well as his immunology research and the impact it has on communities and lives around the globe.  Chancellor Khosla extended a special welcome to Beutler and attendees at the lecture.  “It gives me great pleasure to welcome back Dr. Beutler to UC San Diego. This is my 100th day on campus, and there is no better gift for me than to have a Nobel Laureate here. Thank you, Bruce.”

More than 500 UC San Diego staff members were recognized at the 45th annual Service Awards ceremony for reaching career milestones.  The program honors staff employees who have achieved 10 years or more of service.
