Thousands of UC San Diego alumni and their loved ones gathered on campus for a memorable weekend of reunions, celebratory events and family fun.  This year’s Alumni Weekend festivities were expanded, including the Triton 5k race which raises money for student scholarships.  In addition to having a re-designed route through campus, the event included a health fair, a children’s zone and live music.  After giving a few words of encouragement at the starting line, Chancellor Khosla sounded the air horn to begin the race.  Other Alumni Weekend activities included the Taste of UC San Diego, Family Night at Birch Aquarium and the Alumni Celebration dinner.

And they're off.
