A special celebration was held this week at the Faculty Club to thank the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation for its generous gift to UC San Diego.  The $10.5 million donation establishes the Mother-Milk-Infant Center of Research Excellence, which will be one of the world’s only centers dedicated to human milk research.  At the reception, Chancellor Khosla noted that UC San Diego is the ideal place for this new research center because of our spirit of collaboration and strengths across disciplines, which will help to advance our understanding of the complexity of human milk.  The gift will also support a faculty chair to ensure continued leadership of the center, a fellow fund to attract and retain the best talent, and a research and collaboration fund to support joint studies.
