Philanthropists, Chefs and Foodies Unite to Raise Money for Cancer Research

Hundreds of guests came together for great food and a great cause at the 32nd annual Celebrity Chefs Cook Gala at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine over the weekend.  Attendees nibbled on hors d’oeuvres prepared by award-winning chefs from across the country and learned more about the “MyAnswertoCancer” initiative launched by the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center last fall.  Since its inception in 1981, the gala has raised more than $9 million for cancer research, patient care and community outreach.  Chancellor Khosla attended the event and told the crowd, “The UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center is the best in the country.  We have the top physicians, researchers and facilities, and we are grateful to you for supporting them.  Soon we’ll be able to help even more patients when we open our new Cancer Hospital within the Jacobs Medical Center.”
