Honoring Exceptional Service and Generosity

Walter Munk, Arthur Wagner, Molli Wagner, Conrad Prebys, Chancellor Khosla

The Chancellor’s Medal is the highest honor for support of the university, and this weekend it was awarded to three extraordinary individuals during the Founders’ Celebration Dinner.  The medal was bestowed upon Molli and Arthur Wagner and Conrad Prebys.  Chancellor Khosla also revived the Revelle Medal this year, to recognize a current or former faculty member for distinguished service to campus.  That award went to Walter Munk, who gave an emotional toast to the Chancellor, on behalf of his friend and mentor, Roger Revelle.

Matt MacNelly, a recent MFA graduate from UC San Diego’s Department of Theatre and Dance served as the emcee at the dinner.  At the end of the evening, he joined the Danny Green Quintet, alumna Zoe Chao and faculty member Eva Barnes in a lively song that praised all of the medalists.

Former Chancellors Dick Atkinson, Bob Dynes, Marye Anne Fox and Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla before the Founders’ Dinner.
