Chancellor Khosla recently attended a reunion at the Computer Science and Engineering Department, which brought together current and former tutors. The tutor program assists students in developing strong problem solving skills and helps them create a solid foundation in the fundamentals. The program has grown rapidly, along with the department and demand for CSE experts and education. The tutor program has more than 3,000 alumni. At the event, the Chancellor thanked the tutors for their service and for playing an integral role in the lives of other students at UC San Diego. He also talked about the growing reputation and leadership of UC San Diego in computer science and engineering, highlighting the new Halıcıoğlu Institute for Data Science and thanking alumnus and former tutor Taner Halıcıoğlu for his generosity and vision in establishing the institute.
