Nearly 300 people attended the Black History Month Scholarship Brunch at UC San Diego over the weekend.  The annual event is part of the campus’ commemoration of Black History Month and it helps to raise money for student scholarships.  Chancellor Khosla delivered opening remarks, recognizing our outstanding African-American student scholars and thanking our generous scholarship supporters.  In addition, he talked about the importance of ensuring college access and affordability for all qualified students, and the emphasis on diversity in UC San Diego’s strategic plan.  The brunch also featured a keynote speech by Angela Davis, a silent auction and jazz music.
