The UC San Diego School of Medicine is celebrating its 44th class of new physicians. Over the weekend, 115 graduates received their degrees at the annual commencement ceremony. Before conferring the degrees, Chancellor Khosla congratulated the graduates on choosing a noble profession that helps people and enriches our society. Alumnus J. Craig Venter, the world-renowned geneticist, biochemist and entrepreneur, served as the keynote speaker. UC San Diego’s School of Medicine recently ranked as the 17th best medical school in the nation for research and 19th for primary care by U.S. News & World Report.
