Chancellor’s Medalists Honored at Founders’ Dinner

As part of UC San Diego’s annual Founders’ Dinner celebration, Chancellor Khosla awarded the Chancellor’s Medal to a select group of individuals for their long-standing contributions and involvement with the campus.  The 2012 Chancellor’s Medalists are Bob and Betty Beyster, Julia Brown, Peter and Peggy Preuss, and the late Arthur Brody.  The Chancellor’s Medal is one of the highest honors bestowed by UC San Diego to recognize exceptional service in support of the university’s mission.

Chancellor Visits with Alumni in Los Angeles

As part of his California Alumni Tour, Chancellor Khosla traveled north on Nov. 10 to attend a “Night at Fox Studios” with Los Angeles alumni.  Outside of San Diego, Los Angeles is home to the second largest Triton community.

Alumnus, Nobel Laureate Speaks at UC San Diego

Alumnus and Nobel Laureate Bruce Beutler returned to campus Nov. 8 to speak about his journey that led to the Nobel Prize, as well as his immunology research and the impact it has on communities and lives around the globe.  Chancellor Khosla extended a special welcome to Beutler and attendees at the lecture.  “It gives me great pleasure to welcome back Dr. Beutler to UC San Diego. This is my 100th day on campus, and there is no better gift for me than to have a Nobel Laureate here. Thank you, Bruce.”
