Students Recognized at Honors Banquet

Chancellor Khosla served as the keynote speaker at the Caledonian Society Honors Banquet at UC San Diego's John Muir College.  Members of the Society are seniors with grade point averages of 3.8 or higher.  At the banquet, the Chancellor shared stories about successful alumni and let the seniors know that their UC San Diego education has prepared them for the future, whatever they chose to do.

Making Connections in South County

Southwestern College and the South County Economic Development Council hosted a special reception for Chancellor Khosla on Jan. 24 to welcome him to the South County.  The event was held on the Southwestern campus.  Khosla mingled with attendees – including educators, business and civic leaders, students from Southwestern and elected officials – before giving remarks during the formal program, where he expressed his desire to strengthen ties between UC San Diego and the community.

Honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

UC San Diego students, faculty and staff march in the Martin Luther King Jr. parade.

UC San Diego students, faculty and staff gathered over the long weekend to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Chancellor Khosla joined hundreds of campus and community members in downtown San Diego to march in the annual parade to honor the civil rights leader.  Khosla also attended the Alpha Phi Alpha Black Educators breakfast the day before.
