Chancellor Khosla adds pencils and pens to the school supply collection box in the Chancellor's office.
UC San Diego is once again hosting a school supply drive for students at 16 local elementary, middle and high schools. The 7th annual drive begins today and runs through August 31. There will be approximately three dozen collection boxes all over campus, including one in the Chancellor’s office. Staff, faculty and students are encouraged to donate new school supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, gently used binders and children’s books. University materials will not be accepted. “You represent the talent, leadership and strength of UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management. We thank you in advance for what you will do for our region, our nation and our world.” – Chancellor Khosla
The Rady School of Management has much to celebrate. In addition to commemorating its 10th anniversary this year, more than 100 Master of Business Administration degrees were awarded over the weekend. At the commencement ceremony, Chancellor Khosla urged the graduates to go after their big ideas and find success, and to remember that there are many definitions of success, including helping people and making our planet better for future generations.
Since it was established a decade ago, the Rady School has graduated hundreds of innovators and entrepreneurs who have gone on to great success – starting companies, advancing medicine, creating apps and even winning political elections.
Find your passion. Take risks. Don’t be afraid of failure. These are just a few words of advice that Chancellor Khosla shared as the keynote speaker at the Gompers Preparatory Academy graduation. After commending all of the graduates on their hard work and dedication to their studies, he called out the six graduates who will attend UC San Diego in the fall. The Chancellor officially welcomed them into the Triton family and congratulated them on being in our first class of Chancellor’s Associates Scholars. The new scholarship program was developed this year for eligible students from our three local partner schools – Gompers, Lincoln High School and The Preuss School UCSD.
