Inspiring Young Minds, Dr. Seuss Book Released

“Through his books and his legacy, Dr. Seuss continues to promote literacy and learning, and inspire countless generations of young minds.” – Chancellor Khosla

Hundreds of people flocked to the UC San Diego Geisel Library today for the newfound Dr. Seuss book, What Pet Should I Get?.  The UC San Diego Bookstore sold a limited number of copies of the book during the campus launch event.  Chancellor Khosla commented that UC San Diego is proud to be home to the Dr. Seuss Collection, the largest assembly of Theodor Geisel’s original drawings, books, memorabilia and other materials, and he expressed his gratitude to Audrey Geisel for her generosity.  What Pet Should I Get? is based on materials that were donated in 2013 by Audrey Geisel to the UC San Diego Library’s Dr. Seuss Collection.  Numerous Dr. Seuss original drawings remain on display at Geisel Library.
