Destination UC San Diego

EVC Elizabeth Simmons, admitted student Adan Estrada, Chancellor Khosla and AVC Adele Brumfield

The campus was abuzz with activity all weekend with more than 15,000 prospective students and their family members attending Triton Day on Saturday and more than 4,000 people participating in the Triton 5K on Sunday.  Chancellor Khosla was among the campus leaders, faculty, staff and students who welcomed admitted students to campus, and encouraged them to explore the undergraduate colleges, residence and dining halls, academic departments and student services.  Triton Day is an opportunity for admitted students to learn about all of the opportunities offered at UC San Diego and meet their future friends and faculty.  The Triton 5K benefits student scholarships and has raised nearly $4 million since its inception.  After the race, runners and walkers enjoyed a festival with live music, food and interactive experiences.

A breakfast was held at the Faculty Club for admitted Regents Scholars.

Directors from UC San Diego’s resource centers welcome admitted students at a community lunch.

Runners begin the Triton 5k.
