Catalyzing the Success of Doctoral Students

Chancellor Khosla met with the newest Sloan Fellows at a luncheon Friday, where he welcomed them to UC San Diego and commended them for their dedication to their academic goals. UC San Diego is proud to be one of only eight distinguished universities to have been chosen by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation as a University Center of Exemplary Mentoring. The program is designed to recruit and support students who have overcome significant hurdles in their pursuit of a doctoral degree in the Physical Sciences or Engineering. UC San Diego is home to more than 3,200 doctoral students, and is committed to providing them with diverse learning opportunities, support through peer and academic mentorship, and a community to forge connections and pursue collaboration.
