It was standing room only at the beginning of the first town hall meeting to discuss the strategic planning initiative recently initiated by Chancellor Khosla. Dozens of chairs had to be added to accommodate the crowd of about 250 people. Khosla began the brainstorming session with a presentation about the planning process, and then sought input from the audience. The goal of the strategic planning initiative is to develop shared goals and a unifying vision for the future of UC San Diego. The next town hall is on Dec. 10.
