Chancellor Khosla met with Chicano/a and Latino/a students, staff, faculty and community members on Saturday, Oct. 6, to learn more about their heritage and culture.
He started the day with members of the San Diego County Chicano/Latino Concilio on Higher Education and then visited the Chicano Legacy Mural on the UC San Diego campus, where students explained the history and significance of the artwork. Khosla said, “I love this mural. Every time I walk by, I stop and look at it. And each time, I see something new. Now, I appreciate the depth of this piece even more.” The group then traveled to Chicano Park in Barrio Logan to see the murals that inspired the artwork on the UC San Diego campus and attended a luncheon at Barrio Logan College Institute.
