UC San Diego Debuts New Centers to Advance Ideas and Imagination

The Moxie Center and the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination both held celebrations yesterday to mark their addition to campus.  Chancellor Khosla attended both events and commented that UC San Diego is an ideal home for both centers because of our collaborative, entrepreneurial spirit and our tradition of innovation.

The Moxie Center fosters the incubation and acceleration of student ideas by providing resources and guidance, such as seminars and mentorship in engineering and business development.  Dozens of students, faculty, staff and community members attended the public grand opening, including Mayor Bob Filner and Irwin Zahn.  It was Zahn and his family who made the gift to create the center.

The new Center for Human Imagination brings together experts from multiple disciplines to help us better understand, enhance and enact the gift of human imagination so we can improve our world.  The public launch of the center will be celebrated with a series of events in May; click here to learn more.
