Every February, UC San Diego unites scholarship recipients with the generous philanthropists who support them at the Hearts and Scholars dinner.  It’s an opportunity for our students to thank their benefactors and for donors to learn first-hand how their support positively impacts students’ lives.  At last night’s dinner, Chancellor Khosla conveyed his belief that education is the greatest gift one can give because it’s a gift of opportunity.  He also talked about the university’s goal of raising $2 billion during The Campaign for UC San Diego—which will enter the public phase next month—and shared that fundraising for scholarships will be a priority.
