Sharing UC San Diego’s Positive Impact

Chancellor Khosla touted UC San Diego’s strengths as a public research university when he presented at the 8th annual INFLUENCE San Diego event yesterday.  The goal of the three-day accelerated issues program, hosted by LEAD San Diego, is to enlighten new senior executives about regional business and civic issues.  The Chancellor talked about UC San Diego’s mission of education, research, patient care and service, and the role of our university in creating the high-tech and bio-tech hub on the Torrey Pines Mesa.

He then honed in on the four grand research themes developed through our first-ever Strategic Plan, emphasizing UC San Diego’s tradition of recruiting the world’s top scholars to teach and conduct research, and the importance of creating partnerships to share resources and advance ideas that will benefit our community and world.
