The Urban League of San Diego County recognized several outstanding San Diegans last night with the Diversity and Equity Award, including Chancellor Khosla, who have advanced the goals of equality and inclusion, as well as human and civil rights. The Chancellor was specifically commended for the establishment of the Chancellor’s Associates Scholars Program at UC San Diego, which has benefited 412 students since it was created in 2013. The scholarship helps local students from low-income families and underserved communities to attend UC San Diego tuition-free and debt-free.
