Preparing Students for Success

Chancellor Khosla with President of the UC San Diego Emeriti Association Mark Appelbaum and three Chancellor's Scholars

A special recognition dinner was held on Friday night to honor the mentors and donors who support the Chancellor’s Scholars Program, and to acknowledge the achievements of our Chancellor’s Scholarship recipients.  It was a unique opportunity for the scholars and supporters to interact and get to know each other.  The program, which places a strong emphasis on faculty and peer mentorship and leadership development, was created more than a decade ago to broaden college access and affordability and to help high-achieving students succeed at UC San Diego.  At the dinner celebration, Chancellor Khosla thanked scholarship supporters—many of whom are members of the UC San Diego Emeriti Association—for their generosity of time, experience and contributions to the program.  He also applauded our elite scholars for their hard work and perseverance.  Hear Chancellor's Scholars explain why the scholarship is important to them.
