“Every qualified student who wants to go to college can and should go, regardless of family income. Focus on your studies and college applications, and we’ll focus on helping you with financial aid.”
– Chancellor Khosla
Chancellors and senior leaders from all 10 University of California campuses, including Chancellor Khosla, visited high schools across the state to let students know that college is attainable. Chancellor Khosla stopped by two local high schools as part of the Achieve UC event – Clairemont and Mission Bay – conveying to students that a UC education is affordable and they shouldn’t rule out college because of financial concerns. Each year, UC San Diego doles out about $350 million in financial assistance. The UC system also offers the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, which covers the full cost of tuition for students whose families earn $80,000 a year or less.
