Increasing Innovation through Education and Collaboration

UC San Diego is creating a new array of programs for veteran entrepreneurs, open to all former military men and women across San Diego.  At the launch celebration last night, Chancellor Khosla announced the Certificate in Entrepreneurship that will provide veterans with the basic elements of technology-intensive entrepreneurism and the Veterans Venture that will support the creation of veteran start-up companies.  Many traditional universities support only campus entrepreneurs, but the Chancellor pointed out we are a nontraditional campus and our veteran community is an essential source of creativity and ideas that can benefit our society and enhance our regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Chancellor Khosla chatted with Congresswoman Susan Davis, Congressman Darrell Issa, Congressman Scott Peters and VC Sandy Brown before the program began.  Attendees included government and university leaders, veterans, students, alumni and staff.

Student veterans from the Rady School of Management showcased their start-up companies.
