Honoring Outstanding Leadership

Keith Pezzoli and Gentry Patrick

Two UC San Diego campus members are among the ten people being recognized with the Award for Outstanding Faculty Leadership in Presidential Initiatives.  Gentry Patrick, UC San Diego professor of biological sciences, is advancing the UC-HBCU Initiative through the creation of the UC San Diego/Howard University Partnership for Graduate Student Success Program.  Director of UC San Diego’s Urban Studies and Planning Program Keith Pezzoli is advancing the Global Food Initiative through his committee leadership, as well as several programs and partnerships.  UC President Janet Napolitano announced the awards at today’s Board of Regents meeting, saying “the brainpower and creativity of these 10 faculty members represent one more proof point of the tremendous difference the University of California makes in our state and beyond.”
