Community philanthropist and longtime university supporter and friend, Pauline Foster, is generously giving $7.5 million to UC San Diego in support of the new cancer care hospital at the Jacobs Medical Center. The new hospital will be named “The Pauline and Stanley Foster Hospital for Cancer Care.
To celebrate the extraordinary leadership and visionary philanthropy of Pauline Foster, Chancellor Khosla held a special celebration at Geisel House. During the luncheon, he talked about the tremendous and positive impact Pauline Foster and her family have had on the UC San Diego campus and our entire community.
Pauline Foster’s donation will be combined with a one-to-one match from the Jacobs Medical Center Challenge grant, for a total of $15 million in gifts. The Jacobs Medical Center, currently under construction, is projected to open on the east campus of UC San Diego in 2016.
