Leaders from UC San Diego and China’s Tsinghua University are exploring new avenues for collaboration. A delegation from Tsinghua, one of the top-ranked universities in China, is visiting our campus and has met with several of our China faculty experts, and those involved with our 21st Century China Program based at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. In addition, the delegates toured Qualcomm Institute and convened with engineering faculty. This morning, Chancellor Khosla hosted the delegation in his office to discuss UC San Diego's strategic planning process and priorities that have emerged, including a focus on translational, collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Chancellor Khosla will soon visit China to increase engagement with our university partners, business leaders, visiting scholars, alumni and parents.
