Triton Entrepreneur Night showcases our students’ innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and projects through team demonstrations and pitches. Last Thursday night, 16 teams demonstrated their innovative product concepts and 6 top teams pitched their business ideas to an audience of faculty, alumni and business leaders. Chancellor Khosla helped kick off the event, saying the entrepreneurial spirit is an integral part of UC San Diego’s DNA, fueling our mission to take concrete, bold and creative action to solve the world’s most challenging problems. The Chancellor also emphasized UC San Diego’s commitment to maintaining a fertile ecosystem for entrepreneurship, through initiatives like The Basement.
The winning pitch team was Sin Fronteras Tax and the Audience Choice Award went to Nanome Inc. The judges included alumni entrepreneurs and Basement advisors Taner Halicioglu, ‘95, Greg Horowitt, ’80, Rene Zau, ’95, and Eric Gasser.
