Celebrating Native American History and Culture

Matthews Quad was filled with festive Native American dance and song on Saturday during the 4th annual Powwow held on the UC San Diego campus.  Participants celebrated the connections to tradition and spirituality, and to the Earth and one another, during the social and spiritual gathering.  Chancellor Khosla, who recently expanded the Chancellor’s Associates Scholars program to all eligible local students from federally recognized tribes, stopped by to meet with Native American students and tribal leaders.  The Powwow was hosted by the Native American Student Alliance and the Native American Council at UC San Diego.
