Chancellor Khosla recently participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for UC San Diego’s new Biological and Physical Sciences Building.  The facility will add much-needed classroom and laboratory space to address the rapid growth of both the Division of Biological Sciences and Division of Physical Sciences over the past 15 years, as well as house scientists who work to address pressing global challenges, ranging from human health to sustainable energy sources.  A $2 million gift from The Kavli Foundation to support the project was announced at the groundbreaking ceremony, and the campus also celebrated a legacy bequest from the Honorable Lynn Schenk.  The Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind will reside on the top floor of the new building, once it’s completed.
