Alumni Gift Propels UC San Diego’s Computer Science and Engineering into New Era

“This visionary gift is truly a game changer for the computer science and engineering department, the Jacobs School and UC San Diego.” – Chancellor Khosla

UC San Diego has received a transformational $18.5 million gift, the largest gift ever from one of our alumni.  The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, designated the gift for our Department of Computer Science and Engineering.  The resources will take the department to the next level by providing students with top-of-the-line teaching labs and by funding new faculty endowed chairs to help with the recruitment of innovative faculty.  Mentoring and tutoring programs will also be expanded to educate the next generation of undergraduates.  To read more about the far-reaching impact of this gift, click here.
